P00af is kind of generic and comes up for a few issues.
Most common is the wiring harness by downpipe overheating. Alot of us have vented the engine bay etc to prevent it and relocating it also helps.
the heater on the side of the trans wont let it cool below 200 unless theres zero load and low ambient temp.
It needs to be bypassed and I have not yet found a solution.
I have the ecodiesel and 40s with the CSF and unfortunately the heater thingy on the trans keeps trans temps at 200-205 unless its cold out.
You can see it work when it goes from 150-160 to 200 suddenly and holds. Basically without bypassing the factory heater valve you can only do so much...
The factory oil cooler has coolant flowing through it. No matter what you do that becomes a heater once coolant temps go up to 225-230. You could have a giant oil cooler in the bed with dual fans and it will struggle to overcome this interconnect....
Lowering coolant temps to 195-210 will drop...
220 isnt too hot with a trans but keeping it below that leaves more headroom to prevent spikes. I see the hellcat guys trying to keep them around 160-180.
Oddly enough after all of my cooling modifications my jeep sees its highest coolant temp getting off the freeway and immediately...
It took me around 2 beers 4 hours to install mine.
The lower temp thermostat did alot but being able to kick the fans on with the tazer + the large radiator has been amazing. I can drop all the temps down in 20-30 seconds.
Trans cooler as well which works great BUT! the factory cooler has a thermostat that bypasses the cooler. Randomly the trans temp will still hit 200 degrees. No rhyme or reason not load related etc....I think it needs a bypass setup like the Ram/hemi trans aftermarket has.
I will randomly in...
Been running the csf racing radiator through winter which wasnt a good test. Now its 89-90 degrees.
It has kept the engine oil below 230 even climbing passes where I would spike to 250 and coolant temps below 218 no matter what.
If I turn the tazer cooldown on; coolant temps drop to 180-190...
Mine has done this exact thing a few times.
Always kicks back on under about 20mph. With 40s when it shuts off its scary.
To replicate;
Has to be wide open throttle
Stereo has to be up with subwoofer amp up etc
On the shift it cuts out and doesnt turn back on until you slow down for a few...
I have some miles on the new csf radiator trans cooler and low temp thermostat.
the limiting factor is airflow through the coolant stack which can be overcome by using the taxers fan feature even on the highway.
I have everything else done to this Jeep no insulation, no inner fenders, on and...
I have a CSF radiator on the way! I have the 88c thermostat on order; and CSF is making a trans cooler they are sending me that has 50% more fluid capacity. They essentially add a second cooler in front and make it all one piece.
Unfortunately by the time its installed it will be winter.
I...
Possibly I have all metal cloak and it rides amazing.
The metal cloak shocks are very soft.
falcon 3.3 in the softest setting is slightly firmer than the rock sports were. Much better mid compression and high speed control (dampening).
with the 40s aired down and shocks in soft it’s incredible...
Nothing can cool the oil when the coolant/radiator is heating it up. It will never get cooler than the radiator/coolant temps.
Someone needs to get us a oil housing delete plate with 2 ports for a full flow filter (spin on) and cooler. This would solve it. They did this on the gen 2 rams and...
I had those shocks on my metal cloak lift and they rode nice but were on the soft side.
They only lasted around 15k before the fronts were smoked. I replaced them with teraflex falcon 3.3's and I would highly recommend using those from the get go.
The rocksports are good riding but I would...
