EDIT: This thread is DIESEL engine specific.

I saw this transmission pan adds 2.5 qt capacity and was wondering if anyone is running it? I'm gonna change out my transmission fluid + filter anyway and will have to lower the pan. It would be a good time to add this aftermarket upgrade. Will it interfere with skid plates? It sits higher than the crossmember, and the DPF looks like the next lowest item besides the crossmember. Northridge 4x4 sells the pan.

I've been looking at that pan myself.

I messaged Northridge and was told they have seen some clearance issues with skids. Advised to stay with stock transmission pan. Did not say specifically which skids have clearance issues with the PPE deep pan. Probably best to ask the skid manufacturers, honestly.

(Edited for clarity.)

You need the ppe pan made for the gladiator that has clearance for the exhaust pipe. Not sure it adds any capacity.

I still had to drop the crossover exhaust pipe to get the non extra fluid PPE pan on.

I have this on a 3.6L and have had no clearance issues with Motobilt skids. The pan has made temps more stable and it's a lot easier to drain. Also helps that this pain has a replaceable filter.

I have the diesel engine, so I don’t have that crossover pipe. I guess I didn’t say that, but I did post this in the diesel section. The PPE pan for diesel engine does add 2.5 qts of extra capacity. It also probably gets in the way of a skid plate.

If anyone with the diesel engine is running this deep pan and a skid plate I’d like to hear about it.

I have the PPE pan on my JT. I have stock skid plates. No issues with the install and no issue with the OEM skids. Not sure how after market skid plates would interfere with the PPE pan as the exhaust would be between skid plates and PPE pan. I have the 3.6.

You guys with the 3.6 should read what I said about the diesel engine not having this crossover exhaust pipe. I will edit my original post to avoid confusion.

Who did you message to about the clearance issues?

What skid plate do you have?

I started a chat online from the website with a rep. I don’t currently have any skids, but I’m wanting to add the PPE deep transmission pan. Just trying to figure out if that pan will create a clearance problem for adding skids.

I think with so many options we just really dont know and error on the side of caution when telling customers what fits and what doesnt. This is a great conversation!

I put 445,000 miles on my Ecodiesel ZF8 and never once looked at the fluid lol.

Let alone added a fancy pan.
