When I bought mine in Dec 2019 I knew of one local to my area. I steadily watched more and more drive around and now we are up to 8-10 locals.

I am in the Binghamton area I see a few here and there. JK's and JL's are the most popular it seems.

I'm seeing more now. At least 3 in my hometown on a regular basis. Two white Rubicons and a silver Rubicon. Sometimes I'll see a black one lifted. Most have been stock.

I"m in RI. Maybe see 1 a week if I"m lucky. Drove down to DC 2 weeks ago. There and back saw maybe 5 on the highway total.
Just bought a JLU so have been on the dealership sites the last few weeks. August there were no JT's around, early September they seem to have gotten 2021's in and most had 6-8 on the lots, mostly Rubicons or bare bone Sports, nothing in between. Still seem to be a lot available so not sure how quickly they are moving. Or maybe people are going in and building their own.

I think it's easy to wrongly assume a larger than reality popularity gap. With so many Wranglers of all generations currently on the road, I think it's just too early in the game to assume a lack of popularity.

All things considered, it could be years, maybe decades, before the apparent numbers based on sightings start to even out.

I actually think that the more JT's people see on the road (as opposed to in pictures), the more JT sales will increase. It'll be a snowball effect. I don't know if you've noticed, but they look much better in person than in any advertisement or posted picture. There's something about JT's that a two-dimensional image just can't come close to duplicating. I know that people stop what they're doing to watch me roll by, and complete strangers regularly approach me to tell me they love it and want one. That's never happened with any vehicle I've ever owned.

I'm seeing more, I think part of the problem was after the launch dealers thought they had a license to steal. Closest dealer to me had a total of 2. Both loaded Overlands then added over $10K of extras. Last week they still have the first JT they got on the lot. Factory sticker 51. Dealer sticker 64.

I am in Orlando. I see them everywhere every day. In my gated community I am the third person to have one. They are becoming the new Honda Civic

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator Has Been A Pandemic Sales Success | MotorBiscuit
by Gabriel Vegaon October 2, 2020

The global pandemic and subsequent recession shook up the entire auto industry. Sales across the board saw a massive decrease, even in wildly popular segments such as pickup trucks. Despite this, the Jeep Gladiator carried on seemingly unfazed, with a significant sales increase. The Wrangler-based pickup truck was the only Jeep to avoid a loss in sales due to the pandemic. Things get even better for the Gladiator as FCA’s third-quarter sales report that the popular truck’s sales have only continued to grow.

The Gladiator is on track to double its 2019 sales

Jeep Gladiator | FCA

The Jeep Gladiator arrived in showrooms during the first quarter of 2019. Sales were slow at first, likely due to low stock but exploded at the beginning of 2020. During the first quarter of the year, with Jeep selling 15,529 Gladiators. Toward the end of the first quarter, the world has hit with the global pandemic’s arrival. Widespread economic downsizing meant that a significant portion of potential buyers was no longer in the market. As a result, pickup trucks across the board suffered, including FCA’s RAM trucks.

Sales ramped up during the year’s second quarter up to 19,568 Gladiators sold. While many dealerships closed down with the rest of the economy, a sizeable amount began selling new vehicles via contactless delivery. Jeep’s website even includes a portal that buyers can order their car through. Third-quarter sales for the Gladiator were even stronger, with 22,163 trucks sold. If the current sales trend continues, the Gladiator should easily double last year’s 40,037 units sold.

*Ole fivers commentary: the article mentions the pandemic. In six short months twice more souls lost to it than 2 years of units sold. Wear a seatbelt? West a mask. Thanks for reading.
